How to pair a Sno-Way® ProControl™ 2 Plus
The ProControl 2 Plus is a wireless snowplow controller. Pairing connects the handheld controller to the receiver on the snowplow so you can operate the plow’s hydraulic functions.
Safety first: Park the vehicle, keep people clear of the plow, and make sure the plow is securely connected before beginning. The plow may move when the controller becomes active.
Step-by-step pairing instructions
These instructions are from Sno-Way International’s official ProControl 2 Plus programming guide.
1.Prepare the snowplow
- Ensure the vehicle bumper connection is securely connected.
- Confirm the vehicle supply voltage is 12V DC.
- Verify the 14-pin connector between the receiver module and power unit is connected.
- Connect the 4-pin connector as well, if your plow is equipped with one.
- Check that the receiver LED is blinking red. This indicates that the receiver has power but is not communicating with a transmitter.
2. Turn on the ProControl 2 Plus
Turn on the handheld transmitter. Locate the Down Pressure® (DP) button, also referred to as the pairing button.
3. Put the transmitter into pairing mode
- Press and hold the DP or pairing button.
- Hold it for at least 5 seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.
- Release the button.
- The controller backlights should begin flashing continuously
4. Activate pairing mode on the receiver
- Locate the receiver module on the snowplow power unit.
- Find the small divot on the back of the receiver module.
- Place a magnet into the divot.
- Remove the magnet.
- The receiver LED should alternate between green and red, indicating receiver pairing mode.
5. Wait for the transmitter and receiver to pair
When pairing succeeds, look for these indicators:
- The DP/plow light on the transmitter flashes 3 times.
- The receiver LED flashes green 3 times.
- The receiver LED then returns to flashing red.
6. Exit pairing mode
Once the successful-pairing indicators appear, press the DP or pairing button once to exit pairing mode.
7. Confirm the connection
After exiting pairing mode:
- The transmitter backlights and DP/plow light flash alternately 4 times.
- The DP/plow light flashes 3 times.
- The transmitter signal light and receiver LED begin flashing green.
- The controller is now paired and ready to operate the snowplow.
Troubleshooting
Pairing failed?
If the DP/plow light does not flash three times, or the receiver does not flash green three times before returning to red:
- Start over with the preparation steps.
- Repeat the pairing procedure.
- Verify that the receiver connectors are properly seated and that the system has power.
